Westside German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles

Monty von Monheim is a smart, wonderful 8-9 year old Germany Shepherd with a sweet, relaxed disposition who loves hanging out with his people and his foster brother and sister. At home, both inside and out, Monty is a perfect gentleman. If he knows you are busy, he will lay down near you and nap until you are ready to do something where he can join in. Sometimes, he and his foster sister launch into play time (see VIDEO) or go on ‘squirrel patrol’ together in the backyard before napping together. At treat time, he always politely waits his turn and takes his treat very gently, never begging or pushing. When he sees his foster mom put on her ‘walking shoes’, he begins his silly prancing dance in excited anticipation of his twice daily canyon walks which he dearly loves. He does a 45-minute walk with no problem and asks that his forever home continue to walk him daily. He walks nicely on a leash with reminders. He does well around other dogs once properly introduced and is in training to not bark at passing dogs while on walks. Monty also wanted to let you know that he is housebroken. He would like a home with another dog but without a cat but with squirrels.
